CYANOTYPE :: CAPTURING SUMMER ON FABRIC Sunday 8-10 noon-3pm
Join me at the BOLT studio to preserve Summer on fabric in this super fun cyanotype workshop on Sunday Aug 10th from noon-3.
Cyanotype is a photographic process dating back to the late 1800s that uses UV light to develop images. In this workshop, you’ll create cyanotypes on fabric using paper cutouts, pressed plants and other materials.
The price of the workshop includes 3 pretreated 8 × 11 fabric sheets to print on. This is the perfect size for back patches or wall hangings! Students are encouraged to bring any small, flat objects they’d like to experiment with printing. Paper cutouts, stencils, flat lace, film negatives/transparencies and pressed flowers all work very well. I will also have an array of pressed plants, feathers, lace, random objects and more for students to use for their prints.
We will be printing outside in the sun, so dress accordingly. Aprons are also encouraged to protect clothing while we rinse our pieces.
This workshop will be held at BOLT Handmakers Society located at 556 S. Vista Ave in the Vista Plaza.
