














SAM APRON WORKSHOP! WED July 30th 5-9pm
Come make a cute and functional apron with us!
The Sam Apron is the perfect everyday apron for cooking and crafts. This pattern includes sizes 0-34 and cut lines for heights from less than 5’ tall to over 6’ tall! No more “one size fits all” aprons that don’t fit properly. Sew one for yourself or for a loved one and make them something they will wear and love for years. The Sam Apron includes chest and waist pockets, towel loops, and two strap options! Make a modern cross back apron or a classic halter neck apron. This pattern is endlessly customizable and an ideal sewing project for beginners.
*You must have some basic machine sewing experience to attend this workshop. This class is appropriate for a confidant beginner.

TWILL FABRIC: the cotton/linen twill is medium weight and is great for cooking or casual crafting aprons. The Workwear Cotton Twill is a little heavier and thicker with more structure.
In this workshop you will learn:
how to measure your body and choose your size
How to prepare your pattern pieces
How to apply bias tape
How to topstitch
Included in this workshop:
pre-washed twill fabric in your choice of color
webbing, bias tape and other notions to complete your project
a professionally printed pattern that is your to keep
thread and sewing machine needles
4 hours of guided and hands on instruction from Erika
access to the huge community bin of fabric that can be used for patchwork pockets!
access to a serger to finish seams
Please bring to the workshop:
a functional sewing machine if you have one (we have studio machines that you are welcome to use if needed. Please let me know and I will have one ready for you!)
Sharp fabric scissors if you have ‘em! We have studio scissors, but there never seems to be enough pairs to go around!
Everything else for your project will be provided!
This in-person event will take place at BOLT Handmakers Society located at 556 S. Vista Ave. Please arrive on time. You are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring a closed water bottle, drinks and snacks! There is a small kitchen with fridge available to use.
