TEE SHIRT Workshop! SAT Sept 20th 11-2:30
Come learn to make cute and functional Tee Shirts with me!
You will have the option to make a tee shirt from the pattern of your choice! You can make a fitted tee (like my black and white striped one), a baggy tee (like my navy one), a cropped tee, long or short sleeves, a ringer tee and more. I can also help you trace and make a pattern from a favorite tee shirt that you already own! I will share all my tips and tricks to sewing with knits and teach you some slick skills so you can easily crank out a whole drawer full of tees for your handmade wardrobe!
Please enter your favorite colors in the form at checkout and I will try to have everyone’s favorites on hand at the workshop. There will also be some fun prints available for use!
In this workshop you will learn:
how to measure your body and choose your size
How to prepare your pattern pieces
How to sew with knit fabric
How to hem knits with a twin needle
How to finish your t-shirt with a sewing machine or a serger
Included in this workshop:
pre-washed knit fabric
a pattern that is your to keep
thread and stretch machine needles
a twin stretch hemming needle to keep
3.5 hours of guided and hands on instruction from Erika
access to a serger to finish seams
Please bring to the workshop:
a functional sewing machine if you have one (we have studio machines that you are welcome to use if needed. Please let me know and I will have one ready for you!)
Sharp fabric scissors if you have ‘em! We have studio scissors, but there never seems to be enough pairs to go around!
Everything else for your project will be provided!
This in-person event will take place at BOLT Handmakers Society located at 556 S. Vista Ave. Please arrive on time. You are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring a closed water bottle, drinks and snacks! There is a small kitchen with fridge available to use.
