Cosy Cottage Tote sew-along!

$130.00

Get ready, Sewists, we are going to make the sweetest, most endearing project ever in this fun sew-along! Join us to sew a Cosy Cottage Tote bag. This project combines some simple quilting (like FPP - foundation paper piecing and patchwork) and bag making skills. If you are new to either this will be a great project to get started. I will be making my very own Cottage Tote right along with you, so we will be sewing together!

This sew-along will be THREE 2.5 hour meet ups, listed below. Depending on how fast you sew, you may have some sewing to do at home after seeing the techniques demonstrated in class so you are ready for the next steps.

Friday August 7th 6-8:30pm week one: we will cut all of our fabric and start piecing our quilt blocks and roof.

Friday August 14th 6-8:30pm week two: we will complete our blocks and assemble our front, back, side panels and roof panels.

Friday August 21st 6-8:30pm week three: our final meet up where we will be putting it all together and adding handles, hardware, key fobs, and snaps. Basically all the bells and whistles!

Gathering supplies can be one of the most exciting parts of a project like this! I will supply all of the materials like soft foam, fusible interfacings, hardware (swivel clips, d rings etc), snaps, denim/canvas, buttons, trims, webbing for handles, thread… there are A LOT of supplies needed for this project and I will gather all of it! I also have a big bin FULL of fun, colorful quilters cotton that we can use for patchwork and for the lining of our bags. I will also buy some new fabric especially for our little cottages! Please add a note in the question box at checkout telling me about your favorite colors, themes, fave animals or characters, etc. And, I encourage you to bring along any special fabrics or trims you would like to incorporate into your Cottage Tote, or to swap and share with other folks!

*You must have some basic machine sewing experience to attend this workshop. This class is appropriate for a confidant beginner who is comfortable threading and using a sewing machine.
