VINTAGE JUMPER WORKSHOP! Jan 4th + 11th 11-2:30
The first workshop in 2026, and it is a GOOD one, Sewists!
In January we are going to make OVERALLS! I know several of you have been waiting for this! Join us on Sunday January 4th + 11th from 11-2:30 to sew the Vintage Jumper from Patterns for Pirates.
This pattern has a fun retro feel of a snug fit at the natural waist and through the hips with a flared leg. They are sewn in stretch denim, so they are so comfy and dreamy to wear! The sizing runs from XXS-5X.
*You must have some basic machine sewing experience to attend this workshop. This class is appropriate for a confidant sewist.
At checkout please indicate if you want Dark Indigo, Medium Indigo, Light Blue, Gray, or Black stretch denim in the “Fabric Choice” section (If you are purchasing this workshop as a gift please let me know that in the “fabric choice” section and I will get a Gift Certificate ready and your recipient can choose their own fabric color when they receive your gift)
In this workshop you will learn:
how to measure your body and choose your size
How to cut your pattern pieces
How to install a zipper
How to make button holes
How to make darts
How to make pattern adjustments tofu your body
Included in this workshop:
100% pre-washed stretch denim fabric
a professionally printed pattern
a zipper
buttons
thread and sewing machine needles
7 hours of guided and hands on instruction from Erika
access to the huge community bin of fabric that can be used for patchwork and embellishments!
access to a serger to finish seams
Please bring to the workshop:
a functional sewing machine if you have one (we have studio machines that you are welcome to use if needed. Please let me know and I will have one ready for you!)
Sharp fabric scissors if you have ‘em! We have studio scissors, but there never seems to be enough pairs to go around!
Any special fabrics you would like to include in your project!
Everything else to sew your project will be provided!
This in-person event will take place at BOLT Handmakers Society located at 556 S. Vista Ave. Please arrive on time. You are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring a closed water bottle, beverages, and snacks! The studio can be chilly, so dressing in layers is recommended. There is a small kitchen and fridge available to use.
